Sending us music for your wedding film

We have an extensive library of popular and contemporary music, but there’s always a chance that we don’t have the songs that are important to you and your partner on file.

A note about music copied from an iPod or MP3 player
We’re sometimes sent tracks that are of a low sound quality (and that don’t do justice to your day). As a test, before sending us your music, listen to the tracks on a set of decent headphones — if vocals sound ‘watery’ or ‘a bit echoey’, then the track has been compressed too much.

The best option is to go back to the original music source and either copy the track from the CD or download a higher quality (less compressed) version of the track from your digital music store.

The quickest way to send us your selection is to copy songs from your iPod or MP3 player library and send us the files across the web.

  1. With your partner select a range of songs with a variety of moods: slow and romantic, fun and upbeat (10-20 songs will give us a few options when editing your film). Remember to include songs that you have chosen from your ceremony, and first dance.
  2. Find the song files in your music library.
  3. Copy the audio files to a new ‘wedding songs’ folder.
  4. Right-mouse-click the wedding songs folder, and chose the ‘Create an archive’ option: this will create a zip file.

You can then send us the archive using the free WeTransfer service.

  1. Go to the WeTransfer website.
  2. Add your file: click the (+) button and choose the wedding songs zip file you have made.
  3. In the friend’s email address field, enter: justine@tiarefilms.com.
  4. Enter your email address.
  5. Add a message to us (optional).
  6. Click the [Transfer] button.

We receive an email and can download your wedding song selection.

If you prefer, you can send us your music selection on CD or DVD instead.

Music copyright and licensing: We pay a special event license so that we can use the music you provide on your wedding DVD.

Playing your DVD on a computer or laptop

As well as using a home-entertainment type DVD player, you can also watch your film on your computer (this is handy if you’re travelling on your honeymoon with a laptop).

Insert the disc and then use a DVD player program to open/play your film.

  • On a Windows/PC computer use Windows Media Player (WMP).
  • On a Apple/Mac use DVD Player (you film may open automatically in DVD Player when you insert the disc).

If your computer does not have a DVD player installed, then you will need to download and install a free player (see the list below).

Tip: When choosing DVD player software, check that it will play MPEG-2 (DVD) files.
